One of the founding partners of East Lake Animal Clinic, Dr. McDougall has enjoyed having a presence in this neighborhood since 1973 and watching its dramatic evolution. After his 1969 graduation from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he served in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps for two years. He and his family (wife and two daughters) lived in Minneapolis for a few years before moving to Golden Valley. He is a living advertisement for the Labrador breed, with his latest being a Black Lab named "Splash". Dr. McDougall is an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Apollo Male Chorus of Minneapolis. Few would be shocked if the North Dakota native returned to the peaceful prairies someday. After all, he claims their breath-taking sunsets are second to none.
